What is Motherhood?

Motherhood is queuing up for an hour to go on the Disney Dumbo ride that lasts five minutes - but it made your children so, so happy.

Motherhood is the instinct that prompts you to always grab hold of their hand when you sense danger, however much they protest.

Motherhood means that you will never really go anywhere alone again. But everywhere you go, you see the beauty of the world anew with their eyes.

This post is for this week's Gallery, at Sticky Fingers.

So true - especially the last one. Even when you're away from them, they're in your heart aren't they? And queuing for rides - oh yes.

Lovely! I remember my mother standing in line with me waiting to go on that very ride, and now I'd do the same for mine. So true about seeing things through their eyes. They make sense of everything, if you know what I mean. x

So true all of them. I understand the danger one all to well with 2 very active boys!

all very true although having been to Legoland in half term waiting for 30 second rides in sweltering heat, I think I will seek other ways to see a smile on my children's faces.

Motherhood is never being able to wake up without them being the first thing on your mind - wherever you are. Amazing isn't it?
(also means having saggy boobs and mummy tum...the list could go on...) Great post. I still read all the time NVG, I don't always comment x

Great summary of motherhood. I have been to disneyworld a few times and that comment made me laugh. All that time for so little pleasure! But hey the kids do love it.

I love that The Gallery is making us all put up more photos of our families.

We have friends visiting next week and they want to go to Disneyland - all I can think is how long the queues are going to be!

very true, altho the queueing for rides, I found a real stretch at Legoland- 45min-1.5 hrs for a 90 second ride. (aghhhhhhhhhhh!) That's when I became 'Grumpy Mummy'! Nice to see the photos of you guys!

Nice photos. Definitely with you on seeing the world anew! Having LLC has given me a new lease of life and already I feel I'm going to be learning lots more than I have for awhile.
